I was fortunate to encounter a batch of brand-new power amplifier modules STK4196MK10 produced by SANYO in the later stage. This model is actually the final improved version of the STK419X series. Its external packaging size is the same as that of STK4191X, and they can be directly interchanged. The design output power is 50W+50W @8 ohms, with a distortion level of THD0.01%, which is also on par with STK4191X. It can drive general bookshelf or floor-standing speakers to achieve satisfactory results. This thick-film chip was only supplied to manufacturers who made complete machines, so it is relatively rare to see on the market. As a comparison, the LM3886 power amplifier chip, whose PDF file shows a power of 68W obtained under a 4 ohm load, only has a power of 38W at an 8 ohm load, far lower than the 50W of STK4196MK10. Moreover, its distortion level of 0.03 is also three times that of STK4196.

Brand new SANYO STK4174MK2 chip inventory, this model is an improved version of the STK41X1 classic series, which is a relatively early product. The design at that time was conservative, with solid materials and rigorous tuning. The design output power is 40W+40W @8 ohms, with a distortion level of THD0.4%. Not all extreme parameters necessarily represent good sound, just like how many people still prefer the sound of tube amplifiers nowadays. The performance parameters may not be high, but the sound is mellow and delicate, like aged wine, with more flavor as you taste it. Therefore, this time we chose a classic retro design, both in terms of sound and appearance, to retain the original style. This unit uses a pure copper-wound toroidal transformer, which excels in the mid-to-high frequency range and strives to reproduce the kind of sound that once touched the soul with solid materials. This unit can drive general bookshelf or floor-standing speakers to achieve satisfactory results.
