      BB's common DAC chips are:
     16BIT PCM56,Mainly used in most high-end CD players, the initial product pays more attention to the sound of the product, which is a relatively high starting point in itself, but the early product has been passed down less, and there are not many people who know about it, so it is submerged in the torrent of public opinion with TDA1541 as king. The 18BIT PCM58, which was widely used on mid-range CDs in the past, has good performance and attractive sound. The 20BIT PCM63, which should be the most classic DAC chip of BB company, has excellent performance indicators and good listening experience. It was always seen on many high-end machines in the past. Unfortunately, it was later discontinued.
     20BIT PCM1702This is the product used by BB to replace PCM63. It has better performance indicators than PCM63, but for some reason, many people prefer the sound of PCM63 to PCM1702. It is estimated that PCM63 is easier to get a thick and warm sound than PCM1702.
     24BIT PCM1704The upgraded products of PCM1702 also use the same internal structure of PCM1702, with higher resolution and dynamics, and naturally become the mainstream DA chip of high-end models. Most of BB's DAC chips are usually divided into three levels, namely: the standard P suffix, the higher PJ suffix, and the highest level PK suffix. The internal structure is exactly the same, with slightly different performance.
     PHILIPS TDA1541 and TDA1543
The TDA1541 and TDA1543 are both 16BIT DAC chips. Perhaps, the TDA1541 can be called the king of 16BIT chips. Its excellent THD + N performance indicators cannot even catch up with many so-called 18BIT DAC chips. The TDA1543 is also a 16BIT DAC with only 8 pins, which can be regarded as a very simple DAC chip. But its high-frequency distortion is also terrible. The TDA1543 has the suffix TDA1543A with A and the TDA1543 without. The data formats accepted by these two models are different and cannot be replaced directly. TDA1543A accepts MSB 16BIT data signals and cannot accept IIS data format.

From the above evaluation and analysis, it can be seen that the reputation of PCM56 as an early product is not inferior to the TDA1541 chip that people are fond of. Today, when only the parameters are used to make conclusions about the product, there are still many experienced fans who will see through the clouds. Through the comparison of old and new products, it is found that what we pursue is the mood of listening to sound. That is, the sound expressiveness and charm of a decoding circuit. The parameters are just a reference index! In addition to more sound details, higher signal to noise ratio and dynamics, DSD does not give people a better listening experience than early low-index decoding circuits, which is why some old decoding circuits on the market have not disappeared, but more and more people are pursuing them.

After a long period of audition and comparison, we feel that the PCM56 dual-parallel circuit we are currently making is indeed better than the TDA1541.
