Why No Factory Will Take Your Small Speaker Order (And How to Fix It)

by likevin 20 Apr 2026 0 comments

You’ve spent months perfecting your speaker design. You have a working prototype, a bill of materials, and even a few interested buyers.

Then you start contacting factories. You send emails. You fill out RFQ forms. You wait.

And wait.

Most replies say: “MOQ 1000 units” or “Sorry, not interested.” Some don’t reply at all.

Why does this happen? And more importantly, how can you break through?

The Real Reason Factories Reject Small Orders

Factories are businesses. They optimize for efficiency. Setting up a production line for 50 units takes almost as much effort as for 5000 units – but the profit is 100x smaller.

Additionally, many factories lack experience with the unique requirements of audio products: enclosure tuning, crossover assembly, and acoustic testing. They’d rather stick to simple electronics they already know.

So it’s not that your idea is bad. It’s that the manufacturing system is not designed for makers.

The Traditional “Solutions” (That Don’t Work)

  • Order huge quantities – But you don’t have the capital or storage space.

  • Use a local maker space – Great for one prototype, but not for 100 units.

  • Assemble everything yourself – Possible, but you’ll go crazy soldering 200 crossovers.

  • Hire a freelance sourcing agent – Risky, expensive, and no quality guarantee.

The Real Solution: GoMakerHive’s Manufacturing Cloud Network

We built GoMakerHive specifically to solve this problem.

Here’s what we did:
Over several years, we mapped the precision capabilities of more than 1,000 specialized factories across China’s manufacturing ecosystem. We didn’t just collect names – we audited their equipment, their quality control processes, and their willingness to take small batches.

Then we built an intelligent supply chain engine that instantly matches your project to the best-fit factories – based on your volume, materials, complexity, and budget.

The result:
✅ You get a shortlist of vetted factories that want your small order
✅ You receive competitive quotes without endless negotiation
✅ You maintain control through your Personal Center on GoMakerHive

How It Works in Practice

Let’s say you want to produce 100 units of a wooden Bluetooth speaker with a custom laser-engraved logo.

  1. Create a project in your GoMakerHive Personal Center. Upload your CAD files, BOM, and photos of your prototype.

  2. Our engine analyzes your design – enclosure type, driver specs, assembly complexity.

  3. You receive matches from our factory network. Each factory profile shows past audio projects, MOQ flexibility, and estimated lead times.

  4. You choose a partner and start production – with full support from GoMakerHive.

We’ve helped creators go from “no factory will call me back” to receiving their first batch of 50 units in under 90 days.

Stop Banging Your Head Against the Wall

The old manufacturing system was built for corporations, not creators. GoMakerHive rebuilt it for you.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
